Reform
“I promised to lead by example on reform and change the culture of
Harrisburg that costs taxpayers money. I have kept that promise and
will continue to work for further changes that ensure government is
working for you and not the special interests.”
Leading by Example to Reform Harrisburg
Saying “No” to Costly Perks
Just like she promised, Rosemary has refused a taxpayer-paid car, per diems, cell phone and the automatic legislative salary Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) in both 2011 and 2012.
Making Legislators Pay More
Rosemary fulfilled her pledge to pay for a portion of her own healthcare and even supported a new initiative that is forcing all state Representatives to pay for a portion of their healthcare costs like those in the private sector must do.
More Transparent Government
Rosemary supported a new law that creates an on-line database of all state spending called PennWATCH that will let taxpayers see exactly where and how their money is spent.
Legislate in the Light of Day
Rosemary supported House rules that allow for more time for public review of
legislation before it is voted upon, limits the time of day in which votes can take place and more.
